Meet Dr. Cannava
Mathew M. Cannava, M.D. grew up in Soldotna, Alaska where his family has resided since 1972. After graduating from Soldotna High School, he took his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Davis, and then received his Doctor of Medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his internship at Michigan State University, and his dermatology residency at Wright State University. He has also received specialized training in dermatology from the University of Washington, The University of Wisconsin and Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Cannava is the only Physician in Alaska performing Mohs surgery to have received formal training as a Mohs surgery fellow. He spent five months as a Mohs surgery fellow in Billings, Montana performing complicated skin cancer surgeries and facial reconstructions.
